1938 EFL
1938 was the second of only two seasons for the Eastern Football League. The other season was in 1932. Although they had the same name, there were completely separate and unrelated entities. The EFL was a semi-pro football league, which was sort of a minor league for pro football in the United States. On the field, it was dominated by the Hazelton Redskins who finished with an impressive 5-1-0 record. The Reading Rams (2-3-0) and the Wilkes-Barre Panthers (2-3-0) would finish tied for second, while the Scranton Miners (1-3-1) would finish in last place. Since there were no playoffs, the team with the best winning percentage was named champions of the EFL.
